"You and Me" for D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone,  Happy Friday to you all!

Back again to share another page with you, this time for D-lish Scraps AND it's another pic from my 40th Birthday party.

The idea for this layout came from one of the December Cybercrop Challenges set by Anthea  - To use Circles + Wire.. remember this one?

Whilst I didn't add the wire, I thought it was a great starting point for a layout, something to start the creative process flowing and I don't normally use circles in my designs so it was fun to step out of my comfort zone a little.  So if you haven't joined our great group on Facebook, The Scrap Suite - You really need to, so much inspiration and fun and prizes, yep prizes!!

So as you can see, lots and lots of circles in my background all punched out of some left over pattern paper.

I have then added some punched hearts and stitching details for interest.  I have also added a Shaped Wooden Button to finish off the circles in some places.  I have only just found these cute little Jewelled Cabochon Flowers aren't they the sweetest!!   You can also see the Bitty Bow Clips which I love!!!

Here you can see how all the little pieces have worked together, I've added a Flairwood beads and D-lish-Dots - Enamels, some super small hearts and the jewelled flowers all in a scattering around the page.

One more close up, this time you also get a glimpse of my paper layers, the Wood Veneer title and the butterfly Flair.

So I hope I've inspired you to give some of our challenges a go, step outside your comfort zone a little and I'm sure you will love the end result!

A big hello to you all, Gwen here today with another share for Cocoa Vanilla Studios using the divine 'Love Always' collection.  I will never get sick of the pastel shades in this line teaming them with black and white photos; this one of my husband and I on a recent (and rare) weekend away.

For this layout, I started with the off-cut/outline piece from the 'XO' Colour Me Happy Cut file which I had previously cut from a white sheet of card stock. I wanted to use the outline as a feature in my design.  I started by backing the cut file with the 'Class Act' paper; those dots are divine and I just loved how simple yet striking they were.  Next, I went about the task of hand stitching around the outline of each of the shapes.  I chose a soft pink thread to complement the pink chipboard elements I had planned to use later on.  This does take some time, but I feel the results are worth it!

The next step was to create my photo mat, adding paper layers from the 'Note to Self' and 'Twin Set' papers and then adding more hand stitching around the edge of my photo for extra detail.

To round out the design, I have used a few chipboard frames.  The first I chose was a perfect fit for the "This Makes me so Happy" element, which I have used as a bit of a sub title for the page.  This has been cut from the 'Lovely Things' paper.  The others I chose for their varying size and colours to help round out the design.  I love working with square photos, so adding the frames (which generally are also square) really pulls the design together.

Of course, I wanted to add some other smaller elements for interest; the Bits and Pieces pack and the Die Cut ephemera elements were perfect - you get so many elements in these and in lots of sizes too which is fab.

What better way to finish the page than with the sparkly Enamel Dots, cannot get enough of these and they are in the most perfect colours with a pretty sparkle to them.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the details of my latest layout and it has inspired you to get creative with some of the beautiful Cocoa Vanilla Studios products, there is so much to choose from and it is all divine!!

"Hey Girl, Love You" for D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone,

Back again today to share a layout for D-lish scraps.

I love working with black and white photos and would have to say my 'go to' colour combo for scrapping them is black, white and baby pink.  For today's layout I started with the background sheet of paper.  It was a natural progression to pick up the pink of the cute little hearts and I've added grey to soften.  I feel it's pretty classic 'Gwen' in design too!

So after my pattern paper choice, I knew I had to use that title.  It's not very often I use a bold black title on a page but I feel this one suits it perfectly!  I've added lots of D-lish Scraps elements to finish it off including the divine black Tutu Bloom.  Putting it towards the bottom of the page helps balance out the black in the title.

Of course, as usual I have close ups...

How totally adorable are the Resin bows?  I just love these, so sweet and the perfect size too and they come in a wonderful pastel mix.

I've used a Felt Doily here with a vellum sentiment over the top and stitched together.. loving this look!  You can also see just a glimpse of the wooden arrow there too.  Lots to choose from here.
You can also see Punchinella here tucked into my paper layers... I love using it on my photo mats, in a subtle way.  If you look very closely you will also see a 5X7 Bag in the middle of my paper stack.

Lucky last I had to show you a close up of these cute Shaped Wooden Buttons and Resin Flowers totally adorable.  The flair was the perfect addition in black and white, so versatile.

A big hello everyone!!  Gwen here today to share with you my very first layout as part of the Cocoa Vanilla design team.  Super excited to be here and looking forward to sharing lots of creations with you all.  First up, I'm using one of my all time favourite collections 'Love Always' AND it features my two most favourite people in the whole world; my husband and daughter.

I really wanted to document the true love the three of us have for each other, they really do complete me. The design for this layout began with the 'Colour Me Happy' cut files, in particular, the bold leaf design.  I have cut two of these out quite large (one slightly smaller than the other).  I am using white card stock for a soft look to match the photo and stitched down the centre of each of the leaves for a sweet little detail.

I then went to my photo to choose papers from the collection to match, I particularly love the softness of this collection which I knew would work really well with my photo.   I chose the blue/green in the 'Note to Self' paper to pick up the blue and green tones in my photo and added a touch of pink from the 'Class Act' paper.  I wanted something a little more striking for the title, so I chose the wide stripe of the 'Twin Set' paper and back mounted it against the letters.

I also wanted a little grey in my design so the 'Lovely Things' paper was the perfect choice, especially with the cut apart elements on the A side.  For this layout I used the strip of grey hearts along the length of my design.  It may have only been 6 inches long, however, I have placed my photo mat on top to give the illusion of it running the full length of the page.

Lots of other elements from the collection used including the Die Cut Ephemera, Accessory Stickers, flair buttons, Enamel dots, chipboard accent stickers and the Bits & Pieces pack which I L.O.V.E - Oh so many cute little pieces to choose from including these darling sparkly hearts, don't you just love those?

Thanks for joining me for my very first share, I hope you enjoyed it and it inspires you to scrap a page about someone you love using beautiful Coco Vanilla Studios goodies.

Until next time,

"Real Love Story" for D-lish Scraps - February Inspiration Board - Fresh Cut

Hi all,

Here for a quick share today.  Have you seen the new February Inspiration board over at D-lish Scraps??

Loving the fresh vibe of these colours although I will admit, with Australia Day just passed, I was thinking Aussie Aussie Aussie!!

and here is my take... I went more with the warm yellows and creams and teamed them with white and a pop of the that bright light green.  I made sure to include a floral paper as part of my signature style, but these are colours I wouldn't normally scrapbook with so it was so fun to try something different!!!

Of course, I've included some close ups for you as well.

The image of  the buttons inspired me to add this one, such a pretty floral. I didn't need any inspiration to add that sequin bow, they fit on any project - I was just super happy I had one in the perfect shade of green! :)

I particularly love the light wood colour of these wooden hearts, they were a perfect match as well and really added some warmth to the layout.
