National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hi there everyone,

Did you know that October is National Breast Cancer awareness Month?  It's a month that I have always supported but this year it has meant a lot more ... Some of you will know that my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in September of this year - she had her surgery a few weeks ago and will begin radiation therapy this week.   For me, breast cancer was something that happened to "other people" and I have (in a very real way) recently discovered just how many women are affected by this disease.  I feel so blessed that my mum's cancer was picked up at an early stage and am hopeful that this will mean she can call herself a cancer survivor!!  I urge you all to go and see your doctor and ask about Breast Cancer and get your checks done, they could save your life!

So, with that being said, I am so glad to be joining with Craft Queen to help spread the word about Breast Cancer by hosting this giveaway.

Craft Queen have very generously donated this wonderful pack of  ribbon which you can win!

All divine aren't they!?

I have also got into the spirit of it all and created these 2 "pink" cards which you will also receive.  Full of Craft Queen ribbon, Prima and Manor House flowers.

All you need to do is comment on this post or the Craft Queen blog  to be in the draw to win.  If you comment on both blogs, you will get 2 entries!

If you could please also help me to spread the word to raise Breast Cancer awareness by sharing this giveaway with a friend that would be wonderful too!

thanks and good luck!

Happy Sunday everyone; I hope you are wearing sunnies!!

Thought I would make some time to join in the fun over at Orange Paperie & Co for this months challenge... Here is the inpiration pic...

AND , in case you are wondering, no, I don't go around looking like this normally; we were all dressed up for a dress up party - themed "Over or Under the Sea" for our church earlier in the year... such a fun night!

A new FAV made perfect with Manor House flowers

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am actually feeling like it is only Tuesday today, I'm out of sync this week as Caitlin had a student free day on Monday so today was her second day of school this week and it has really thrown me out!  It's ok though, Friday is going to feel like Thursday and I'm sure I'll re-sync over the weekend :)

Here to share a new favourite layout with you... I love it when a plan comes together!!  A little different with just the one main flower cluster... but its a big one!!

ohhh so many beautiful layers... seriously thinking about framing this one rather than squishing into a frame!

The new Manor House flowers are to die for!!!

ALSO, a big reminder to check out my little giveaway from Purple Pumpkin - See the post below... All you need to do is be a follower and comment on the post about your favourite Purple Pumpkin layout (all of which I have shared here too)  Easy, Peasy, Lemon squeezy!

October sketch for Purple Pumpkin

Happy day to you all!

Here today to share the last of my DT  inspiration for Purple Pumpkin... It is with mixed emotions I share this layout as the past 6 months have gone by so very quickly and I have had the best time!!  I have had to look at my priorities and cannot keep up with the 4 design teams I am on.  I have also been doing this in my non-scrap world as I have been feeling so overwhelmed of late and honestly have just taken on too much of everything so I have made some tough decisions and let some things go.  It has been hard but for the best and I do feel good about it... any-ways, off on a tangent there a bit... I'm sure you all "get it" :)

So, without further ado, here is the sketch created by the wonderful Crece Thomas.

As always, close ups first...

and the full layout... Now I know the title is in the "wrong" spot at first, it was just going to be "lovely day" which is in the right spot but I later added "Spring is"  :)

Hope you all get a chance to play along in October.

thanks

Scrap Friends Sketch Challenge #6

October is here Yeah!!! I love October as it is my birthday month and I love love love birthdays!  They always mean a lovely meal with Mum, another one at a restaurant with Chris and lots of pressies and also because Summer has just begun usually a trip away for the weekend!  It was also our wedding anniversary on the 29th September so it is a busy and fun time of the year for us - and then there is Christmas just around the corner!!

To share today is the Scrap Friends Sketch Challenge #6 and here is the sketch...

and my take... I think it's a bit different for me, the page is not so "full" and definitely not a colour combo I often use!!  That is part of what it is about though, trying out new things and new ideas :) and I am happy with how it all worked out!

Wouldn't be a project of mine without a flower cluster...

I hope you all make the time to play along, I have a feeling this sketch will be a popular one!
