Bird is the word "Discover"

Yet another fortnight has whizzed past and we have a new word over at Bird is the Word. This one just screamed travel photo to me and I have a billion not yet scrapped; OK, maybe not quite a billion but they are the ones I tend to choose last, not sure why. So, the word is... "discover" and here is what I came up with....

The gates were the ones I used for Caitlin's birthday cake, with a new darker colour and some Crackle Accents they have come up a treat and I just love my new red ribbon from Craft Queen!

Thanks for popping by and your lovely comments... It is always so wonderful to read them and be inspired to keep sharing my work with you all.

Lots more to show you... but not quite yet...

Bird is the word "Heart"

This fortnights challenge is up at Bird is the Word and the new word is "Heart".

I loved this one, there were so many thoughts running around in my mind, "I heart you" - and the very valentines day themed layouts that go with it, and then there was that quote.. something like, "Children hold our hands for a short time and our hearts forever" but, then I found this quote..."The greatest treasures are those invisible to the eye but found by the heart." by Maryanne Williamson and I created this:

I teamed together some very old Heidi Swapp letters and ribbon with some collections chip and for the very first time gave the Crackle Accents a go.. pretty happy with the result. (You can see it best in the last close up) I first painted the chip with white Kaiser paint, then glimmer misted with "Hula Hoop". Then once dry just added on the Crackle Accents and there you have it.

Now some close ups - I changed the way I take these (for the first two) and LOVE the result... See the beautiful Purple Pumpkin buttons... *sigh*

and last but not least this cute lil "Charming Floral" is from My2Angles - These are super sweet! and here you can see the finished chip.

There are lots of prizes up for grabs including a guest DT spot and Winner blinkie for your blog - so get on over there and give it a go!

Lots to show you Sunday

Well hello there...

It's Sunday again and we are heading into the 2nd week of school for Caitlin. We are slowing working out a new routine and I'll be glad once I feel comfortable and feel like I know what I am doing!!

A few things to show you tonight... **warning, photo heavy post**

First up the February challenge is up over at Craft Queen and this month there are 3 criteria.. The word "Love", The colour Blue and a button and here is my take...

I also made this card to go with it...

I also had the chance to play with this months ribbon club, can never go past a pink and brown combo!

Check out all the details here.

Craft Queen also now have Maya Road ribbon and I got to play! - I just love love love the SRM stickers too!!!

Love the colours in these!!

and last but not least, just for fun, I had a great time creating with a heap of Prima and Craft Queen goodies... I just love the twineandcrochet-mirror-circles

There are also some My2Angels flowers in this too - they are a bit bulky, but I pulled out the centres and added the Prima pebbles and they came up a treat!

Every now and then, I just have to lash out and go Pink crazy... ahhh, now that feels better!

Hope these inspire you to take some time out and be creative!
