Happy New Year

Wow - what a whirl-wind December we have had! Can't believe 2010 is over and I am now nearing a full year of blogging. I've been thinking about some goals for the new year and will post these over the next few days, one will definitely be...Eat less chocolate! I have 3 recent layouts to show you all... the last one is the
December sketch challenge from Anna's Craft Cupboard and I've included the sketch as usual. The other two are both from our recent trip to Melbourne and they both use more of the My Minds Eye paper - Tickled Pink range which I love love love! I wanted to show you just how different they look even though they use the same range of paper.... cool hey!

December kits at Kaiser Robina

Wow, can't believe it's been 3 weeks since my last post. I haven't been doing too much scrapping these last weeks as we are in full Christmas swing around here and seem to have back-to-back functions (lucky us!) I do love a Christmas party... Chrissy shopping is all done now so no crazy trips to the stores, just time to kick back, relax and wait until Santa's visit. I have taken some time out to work on the kits for December for Kaiser and have a little sneak peak below... be sure to come in store and check em out!! With the new year fast approaching, I've also spent some time reflecting on the goals I set out at the beginning of the year and I didn't quite get to all of them, though all in all I'm pretty proud of what I've achieved. Will definitely be posting this years, so more on that to come!
One is a hanging calendar which I whipped up in 2 hours and the other is a tree tag album.

Anna's November Sketch

I've had the chance today for some more scrappin in between running errands for Caitlin's up coming ballet concert.... Rehearsals, lining up for tickets, purchasing costumes/new ballet tights etc etc... and there was some mention somewhere along the line about a hair and makeup practice or something, note to self, better follow that one up! I think we've all forgotten she's still only 3! Still, she is super excited about it so that makes it all worthwhile.

Ok, enough of that, here is my take on Anna's November sketch... I do just love "pretty".

4 days and I've had withdrawls!

Another month is well on its way and I've just arrived home from a trip to Melbourne with my hubby and lil Caitlin. We had a lovely time but I did miss our beautiful November weather and no scrappin for 4 days solid - oh my! So, today being a home day I made the most of it and did a couple of layouts and here is one of's my dh being silly with our Sam taking the photos.

The first layout of many!!

I'm having a moment.....

It's 8:30 on Sunday night, I'm humming away to myself that classic WHAM song "when will I, will I be famous? I can't answer that.. I can't answer THAT"!! How on earth that popped into my head I'll never know... anyways, I'm working on some Kaiser kits thinking, does it need "glitterising"? hmmm, Of course it does!!! I think it's time for an ice cream then a lie down.

I said Rain, Rain Go Away worked!

Well the rain has gone away, least for now... I'm making hay while the sun shines and took the lil miss to the beach today, it was beautiful. Also snapped my take on this months sketch at Annas Craft Cupboard. This one has something old (Queen & Co round alpha), something new (new Prima paper), something borrowed (the paper punch) and something blue (my mate bazzill)... hehe. Not a usual colour combo for me, but I think I pulled it off!

Rain Rain go away

I know we were all praying for rain not that long ago but enough is enough! Sure, I can scrap a heap but I can't get outside to take photos so that I can post them!! With finally a break in the weather yesterday I took a special trip home at lunch to take some photos. Both layouts use the same sketch but as they were in different albums I didn't think that would matter and it's amazing how different they look just with colour change. Got me thinking, we don't always have to re-invent the wheel!

Also busy working on the kits for November at Kaiser Robina and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... stay tuned.

October classes at Kaisercraft Robina

Hi Everyone,

Another busy week... my little one is sick at the moment with a chest infection, poor thing. They are hard work when they are ill, but she's worth it. More antibiotics and she'll be good as new.

Well it's the start of a new month and that means a new selection of classes on at Kaisercraft Robina... starting with tomorrow, there are still spots available for "Summer Fun" double layout - Class starts at 1pm.

I'm also doing a beyond the page coffee table book that features all members of the family - Sat 9th October and on 23rd October why not join me for a double layout that will show off the superstar in your life. Classic pink white and black combo, you can't go wrong!

I've added a couple of snap shots...

While the hubby's away...

I'll scrap all day! Well, that was the plan, but it hasn't quite turned out like that!! My dh is away on Fraser Island camping to his hearts content while I'm staying "sand fly free" here at home with our 3 year old. For those of you who don't know me that well, I don't do camping. Truth is, I'm allergic to it... I'd like to go.. really I would... he he... but I just can't!!

I have done a stack of shopping including a very exciting trip to IKEA (love love love that place) and visiting and coffee but not a lot of scrapping as yet. I do have a stack of projects to finish off for my "bosses" at Kaisercraft Robina which I am getting stuck into. They are all X-mas things which must mean it's not too far away. Some of you will freak out at that, not me, it's my fav time of the year...I did also get a chance to do this layout of my lil princess who recently had her ears pierced... sooo grown up.

X-mas in July

I smile every time I look over my latest layout...Not sure if you can really see but my lil Caitlin decided to make herself a beard of bubble bath bubbles so she could look just like Santa. Shots were taken in July (pure coincidence)and that's how we got X-mas in July!! It's been super fun over the past week to do some "free" scrappin. I've been super busy organising all my classes for September and October at Kaiser and had them done well and truly on time so I'm a free agent for the next few weeks.. BTW there are some ripper classes too, even if I say so myself!! You can call Kaiser at Robina to book (Gotta get my plug in!!)

September sketch at Annas

Hi all, Wow it's the first week of the month and I've already done this months sketch at Annas. I've included my take on it and a copy of the sketch designed by the talented Wendy Smith. There is an amazing amount of talent showing their work off in the gallery there, definitely worth checking out!

Anna's August sketch

Well it's taken me most of the month, but I got there...(just) I'm a big fan of any sketch with 2 photos and this one is no exception... and I was itching to use this super cute paper from My Minds Eye. I've attached the sketch so you can give it a go and my take on it.

Tuesdays tidings

Yeah!!! Finally a couple more layouts for you all.... The first one is my take on Anna's Craft Cupboards monthly sketch challenge and I've also included a shot of the sketch. Really enjoyed this one, loved working with the soft colours of the Devonshire range from Kaiser and the gorgeous Prima stickers, super yummy glitter. The second is a re-do of a layout I did ages ago... I know, I know, we aren't SUPPOSED to re-do them it's just the first one really sucked!!

Another Sunday night

I've had a busy scrap weekend just gone starting with Friday night scrap-a-thon at Kaiser Robina. Sooo much fun getting out with the girls although I think more chatting than scrapping went on!! I didn't get home until 12:30 way past my bed time!! I've also done a stack of work on a beyond the page project for a new adventure which you will hear about soon....

Sunday Afternoon

Another Sunday afternoon is ticking by, Caitlin is still asleep and I've had some quiet scrapping time...ahh. I've definitely gone back to my roots with this one, stamping and a sweet pastel colour combo. I even took the pics which (even if I do say so myself) turned out perfectly!! This is right up there with my fav layout of all time!!

For all those wondering, no I didn't get chosen as a DT member for Kaiser (awwww) but whist I was initially disappointed, when I saw the work of the ladies chosen felt much better, they are truly awsome!! Definitely worth checking out the Kaiser blog.

Anna's June sketch

Wow, what a busy month its been. I just finished my take on the Anna's Craft Cupboard sketch challenge for June. I enjoyed this one.... I've said it before and will say it again, love love love the pink, black and white colour combo!

I did say "for now"

Well, I just couldn't do it... it needed a title, at least, and then once that was in, it needed the journaling to help it all make sense... so, here it is again with the additions. I tried very hard not to clutter it up but the journaling was very long!! This is not the entire verse so I've cut and paste it here.... love this.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed of walking along the shores of different lands.
I could tell that You were with me by the footprints in the sand.
As I gazed upon the heavens, I saw pages of my life.
It was then I realized that You remained there by my side.
When the clouds began to gather and the rains came falling down,
I looked to only find one set of footprints on the ground.
I said, "Lord, why did You leave me in the troubled times of life?
I believed that You would always walk beside me day and night." (Then I heard:)
"My precious child, I'd never leave you.
I have carved you on the hollow of My hand.
It's then I carried you in My arms,
When you see one set of footprints in the sand"
Dear Lord, will You be with me as I travel through the years?
Will You be there in the struggles? Will You wipe away the tears?
As my eyes turn toward the ocean and the shores of distant lands,
I'm still thinking of the single set of footprints in the sand. (I heard Him say:)
"My precious child, I'd never leave you.
I have carved you on the hollow of My hand.
It's then I carried you in My arms,
When you see one set of footprints in the sand."
Will I hear the angels singing, as my life comes to an end.
Oh Lord, I long to see You. Will You be there once again?
My eyes turn toward the heavens, along the path of foreign lands,
Once more, I'm thinking of the set of footprints in the sand. (Jesus said:)
"My precious child, I'd never leave you.
See your name carved on the hollow of My hand.
I'm here to carry you to your home.
You will see one set of footprints in the sand.

Now I've googled it and from what I can make out, this is the song by Mark Hargrave but the original verse was by Mary Stevenson. I'm going to ask my step dad about this as he is an encyclopedia of all things music, he's sure to know!

Scrapbook Expo

Well, what a day I had yesterday at the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo! My feet are killing me but it was sooo worth it. I met Susan Longman over a bucket of Glimmer mist, had a great chat with the girls from Kaiser, did a class with Ngaire Bartlam and did a little bargain hunting with great results. I also checked out the new Big Shot by Sizzix. I already have a Making Memories Slice Machine so I'm not convinced I need one of these, but it is very cool and will cut chip which my slice can't do. I've had some time today to put together this layout and strangely enough, it is all from my stash, that is, nothing new from the expo (can you believe that!!). For me it was more about getting inspired and checking out some new techniques and products. Now it doesn't have a title or journaling which I'm really not sure about, but they say a picture says a thousand words and this is right up there with my fav photo of all time (big call I know!) So... at least for now I've let it speak for itself.

Lazy Sunday

I do love a quite Sunday afternoon and the chance to do a little scrapping and checking out some techniques on youtube. I usually get side tracked when on youtube but today I have managed to stay focussed and finish this layout. I saw this cute bird pattern paper by Three Bugs in a Rug and it really was the inspiration for the page, not only for the cute title, but also for the colour combo, who said Blue and Green should NEVER be seen!

Phew! Hours to spare....

Well, it's done, my Kaiser DT Application is now complete!!! OMG, Cindy at Kaiser Robina told me about it last Saturday (only 8 days ago) and I knew it would be a super challenge time wise but I'm soo glad to say I made it, with hours to go!! eeeekkk!! I've put together some snippits of my application for you and I sooo hope they like it! Either way, I am super proud of it..... fingers crossed!!

One Perfect Day

Well, as anticipated another layout from that gorgeous day at the beach. I did a lot with the Glimmer mist for this one with the sweetest "vintage pink" colour. My latest fav buy. I also just have to mention that my darling husband bought me a couple of new shelves for my scrap space for Mother's day and I've been busy reorganising my stash. I know it's just a shelf, but it means way more than that as I've been scrapping in our formal dining room and slowly (by stealth) changing it into a scrap space. The shelf is a symbol, it's a sign that it really isn't a dining room anymore, but my scrap room..... He's such a good egg!!

Oh Happy Day

Last weekend we took Sam and Caitlin to the beach. On the way out the door I (on a whim) grabbed the camera. It was a good thing I did as we came home with over 200 photos!! It was great as we even got some of Chris and I which is a rare thing! So, here are the first of these, Caitlin having an absolute ball making "Sand Cakes" Also wanted to mention that this layout design is my take on Annas Craft Cupboard's monthly challenge.

Another long weekend

and another great opportunity to do some scrapping which I can then share with you :) Both of these layouts have photos taken on our Christmas holiday to Coffs Harbour which was a heap of fun. I think i've pretty much covered this holiday now which is great.

Long weekend

Nothing like a long weekend to get some scrappin done and I've got 5 days all up - woo hoo!! These 2 I've only just done, doing a bit of black and white at the moment; I go through phases. The first one is done using this little kit from Anna's Craft Cupbord (My Minds Eye Sweetie Pie) It's SUPER cute and right up my alley! The 2nd one would have to be my most fav colour combo; baby pink, black and white and I just love the natural shots of Caitlin which I took actually - for a change. SORRY - I've had to take this down as it's being published!!

Kaiser Projects

Kaiser Super Scrap

Well, it's been a busy weekend but I did get a chance to finish off 2 of the projects I started at the Kaiser Super Scrap. I really love the quote book and am thinking these could be very handy as handmade x-mas pressies. For the layout of Chris I used a similar design to the Goggle Girl layout I did of Caitlin. Love this. AND the Shaken not Stirred range is really cool for boy layouts. I've also done a heap of organising of my layouts. I bought a couple of D ring albums and have now sorted all layouts into 2 categories (so far). 1. Caitlin - divided into years and 2. Family - divided into years. I figured this way I could record the important events for our family each year, rather than doing say an album of holidays, birthdays, x-mas/Easter, etc etc. I love that I will be able to pull out one album and view all of the events that occurred in that year. It may get to a point though where I need more than one album per year, but this system does allow for that. I feel really good about getting this organising done and it has shown me which years I need to focus on recording and what's been missed.

Friday, April 9, 2010

Well the new month is here and tomorrow is the Kaisercraft Robina "Super Scrap Saturday"!! 9 hours of scrapping fun...woo hoo... Chris is looking after Caitlin and the big girls while I'll be scrappin my heart out. I'll be sure to post my work too! I've also recently finished this months sketch for Anna's which I've posted... I'm actually not too keen on this one, I think the colours match the photos but it didn't really work out how I wanted - I think there is too much pattern paper maybe?? Not sure, but I think I will reprint the pics and retry this one. Since my last post I've also made a couple of cards and plan to do more of this just to use up my scrap paper. I did make Easter cards for the Kindy teachers and was quite surprised at the response I got - seems a little personal touch goes a long way!!

Happy Days

Oh Happy Day!! I'm being published again!! wooo hoo... I've basically been submitting EVERYTHING and my persistence has paid off... can't show you the layout though! I've been tracking my results so far this year and it's currently running at 18% -can you believe that?!? - AND there is a stack outstanding too, soo I'm hoping there will be more yeses to come!!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

I think I can...

Well, it's done...finally, longest layout in history!! Not sure I'll be using this colour combo again though :)

Groundhog week

It's been one of those weeks!! Seriously, I've been working on the same layout for over a week now and it just won't come together...eeek.. Driving me quite crazy but you know what... it's not going to beat me!! I did however, put it aside for a bit and went on with something much more familiar, pretty and pink :) Using new CHA release by Sassafras Lass and some SUPER old chipboard letters by Lil Davis, don't know why it's taken so long for me to use them, their cute! Back to the original layout now, I think I can.. I think I can.....

A Mummy's Work

Another week has passed and I'm happy to say it's my regular Friday frenzy night!! A night of sitting up late scrapping and checking out techniques and products on the web.. AND adding to my blog some of my latest creations. This one has been created for Annas Craft Cupboards monthly sketch and I loved it so much I actually used it for another layout this week. I'll post both so you can check them out.
